とする。

aがbの倍数、あるいはbがaの約数であることを

と記述することとする。また、

$a_{1},a_{2},\cdot\ \cdot\ \cdot,a_{n}(a_{i}\in Z)$

とする。整数dが上記のn個の整数の公約数である。

$\forall i\in\left\{1,2,\cdot\ \cdot\ \cdot,n\right\}[d|a_{i}]$

また整数dが上記のn個の整数の最大公約数である。

$\forall e\in Z[(\forall i\in\left\{1,2,\cdot\ \cdot\ \cdot,n\right\}[e|a_{i}])\Rightarrow e|d]$
